SNOHOMISH COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Snohomish County Deputy Sheriff’s Association is proud to offer up to six $1000 college scholarships to the children of dues paying association members. The following are the eligibility requirements, process and judging elements.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be children of current dues paying members, retired members or deceased association members. They must also be full time students who are or will be enrolled in a baccalaureate program, associate’s degree program or a certified vocational/technical program in the fall of the year of application. The scholarship funds are to be used toward tuition, books, or other school related fees. “Children” is defined as “dependent” and does not include spouses or grandchildren. Any judgment decision concerning applicant eligibility will be decided by a majority vote of the association executive board. 

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

  • A completed scholarship application
  • A personal resume listing work history, school/community activities, honors or awards(including any scholarship awards that you may have already won)
  • A personal statement detailing your academic and life goals and expectations (500 words or less)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A copy of your academic transcript

SCHOLARSHIP JUDGING ELEMENTS

A panel of school teachers will review the packets and select the recipients to be awarded scholarships. The secretary from the Executive Board will be a non-voting member of the panel and observer for the selection process. The applicant's packets will be reviewed by the panel and be awarded points based on the following point scale. There will be up to six $1000 scholarships awarded. The panel will establish a scoring sheet for the listed items.

  • School/community activities, honors or awards                              
  • Personal statement                                                                      
  • Recommendations                                                                       
  • School academic records

Completed applications must be received by June 30 of the year of application. Completed application must be mailed to:
